If you’ve watched The Avengers, Infinity War (and let’s be honest, at this point, who hasn’t?) you may have been awed by the desolate landscape of Vormir, the planet where Thanos gets one of the Infinity Stones (and kills his daughter in the process). What you may not know is that these scenes were filmed in one of the most spectacular places in Brazil, if not the world.
The Lençois Maranhenses are a series of dunes…miles and miles of dunes…on the Atlantic coast in the Brazilian state of Maranhão. The seasonal rains leave pristine pools in the low places, making for an amazingly beautiful landscape.
The lencoismaranhenses Instagram feed is dedicated exclusively to pictures of this natural wonder.
And they’re spectacular.
