Video: Brazilian Judge Sérgio Moro Receives an Honorary Doctorate from Notre Dame University

This was recently brought to our attention by one of our readers.

Why is it a big deal? Well, Judge Moro is presiding over the biggest corruption case in Brazilian history, a case that started as an investigation into irregularities in a car wash, but that exposed tentacles of corruption that spread over all of Latin America.

Moro was not afraid to go after the big names, thus earning himself the respect of many Brazilians, and also the anger of many powerful men.

Here he is receiving his honorary degree…

And here is his commencement address:

For readers of Best of Brazil, Moro is the judge who came back from vacation to undo a lower court decision to free ex-president Luís Inácio Lula da Silva from jail.
