Musical Interlude: “Tristeza”, Sung by Jair Rodrigues

A couple days ago we posted a rather unorthodox rendition of the samba classic “Tristeza”. Today we thought we’d post a rather more orthodox rendition…one that brings out all the emotion of the lyrics.

Enjoy.

Here are the lyrics:

And in English…

Sadness, please go away
My crying soul can see my end
Sadness, please go away
My crying soul can see my end

You’ve made my heart your dwelling place
My sorrow is too much
I want to go back to my life of happiness
I want to sing again
